How to Prepare for your Evaluation

We want to make every effort to ensure you have the best visual outcome for any refractive or cataract procedure. Here are our recommendations to follow in advance of your evaluation.

Your pupils will need to be dilated as part of your examination.

Artificial Tears

Please start using any over the counter artificial tear eye drops two times daily.

If you don't have some already, we recommend Systane Complete or Refresh Relieva.

Contact Lenses

Wearing contact lenses, especially over a long period of time, can temporarily reshape the front surface of the eye (known as the cornea).  This can influence measurements obtained in preparation for your procedure.

It is essential your contact lenses are removed for a proper period of time prior to your evaluation.

If contact lenses are worn during the recommended removal period, there is a strong possibility the measurements and procedure will need to be rescheduled for a later date.

  • All contact lenses must be removed for a minimum of 2 weeks

Items to Bring with to your Evaluation

  • List of medications you are currently taking
